Testing RequirementsBefore you take your exam make sure that you:

Bring with you:

  • A valid state-issued photo ID, OSU student photo ID, or required test client IDs are required for all testing.

  • Your username and password (for computer-based exams).

  • The course prefix and number, exam name, and professor name for OSU-OKC exam(s).

Leave at home or in your car*:

  • Hats/non-religious head coverings

  • Headbands larger than ½ inch.

Plan ahead:

  • You will be required to turn off cell phones, smart watches, fitness bands, and any other electronic devices completely*. 
  • If you are feeling ill, please reschedule your exam.

*personal items not allowed in the exam room may be stored in a locker on-site.

 

 

Tests Administered

  • ACCUPLACER™ – Traditional Nurse Pre-admission Exam

    The Next Generation ACCUPLACER Exam (Reading, Writing and Math – Quantitative Reasoning) is the pre-admission exam for applicants of the OSU-OKC Nurse Science Degree program.  

     

    Appointment & payment required for testing:

    To pay for your exam, (3 ways to pay)

    1. Follow the link on the appointment confirmation screen
    2. Payment link in your appointment confirmation email, or 
    3. “Pay for exam” below.

    This ACCUPLACER is NOT offered online.

    ACCUPLACER Cost:

    • $7.50/section
    • $15.00 for two (2) sections
    • $22.50 for all sections

    Test time:  Not timed, but each section takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

    • One (1) section:  45 minutes – 1 hour
    • Two (2) sections:  1 ½ – 2 hours
    • Three (3) sections:  2 – 3 hours

    Retakes* **:

    • Three (3) times per testing cycle 
    • Two (2) weeks in between attempts
    • Not to exceed six (6) times a year.

    *Note:  Frequently repeated testing is discouraged as it is not a good indication of your readiness.  For the results to be meaningful to you and for admissions purposes, we limit testing to three times per application period and six times per year.  We are requiring a two-week waiting period for retesting to allow for additional preparation time for the exam.

     

    Testing Cycle:

    • Fall semester start: September 2nd – April 1st 
    • Spring semester start:  April 2nd – September 1st

  • ACCUPLACER - Placement Exam

    Prospective Concurrent students may need to take the ACCUPLACER™ for placement purposes at OSU-OKC. The ACCUPLACER™ is a comprehensive, computerized test system that determines appropriate placement in reading, writing and math courses. 

     

    Accuplacer Study Help

     

    Three ways to take the ACCUPLACER:

    ONE: At the OSU-OKC Testing Center

    • Schedule an appointment
      • Choose ACCUPLACER – OSU-OKC Testing Center
    • Go to Admission and get an orange testing ticket
    • Bring the orange testing ticket to the testing center with a valid, unexpired ID
      If you are already on campus, no need to schedule an appointment, just bring your orange ticket & ID to the testing center

    TWO: Online with Examity

    • Schedule an appointment
      • Choose ACCUPLACER - Online or ACCUPLACER approved testing center
    • Receive an email from Examity with instructions on how to take your exam
    • Once you have completed your exam, scores will be available within 48 – 72 hrs.

    THREE: At an ACCUPLACER approved Testing Center near you

    • Schedule an appointment
      • Choose ACCUPLACER - Online or ACCUPLACER approved testing center
    • Testing center will work with you to find a testing center close to you and send you a voucher to take the test at that testing center
    • All fees associated with using another testing center are the responsibility of the student
    • Once you have completed your exam, email or call the testing center

  • ACT 

    National ACT

    This is a college assessment for mathematics, English, reading, and science. National ACT scores are applicable at all colleges and universities. Participants must register at least a month in advance to pay the lower fee.

     

    ACT TEST DATES AND REGISTRATION

     

    ACT On-Campus Exam

    This test covers the same four subject areas as the ACT National exam, but scores will only be accepted at Oklahoma State University campuses. OSU-OKC only administers ACT On Campus exams to students admitted to OSU-OKC. Tests are administered by appointment only and need to be scheduled 4 weeks in advance. You can schedule an appointment by calling the Testing Center at 405-945-8648.

     

    Cost: $90* Advance payment Required. OSU-OKC Testing Center Rescheduling Policy applies.

    Retakes: Once every 60 days. (Exception: high school students may only take the exam one time from November 1 to October 21)

  • ALEKS - OSU–Stillwater Math Placement Exam

    The ALEKS is the Oklahoma State University – Stillwater Math Placement exam. Students, who have applied to OSU – Stillwater will receive an ALEKS account to take their math placement and can come to OSU-OKC Testing Center to have their ALEKS proctored and certified.

    • Students need to be able to log into their OKEY account.
    • Exams are delivered by appointment only.

    Cost:  $20 proctoring fee

    *NOTICE: You may not take the exam more than once in a 24 hour period (this includes practice exams). Therefore, practice exams taken within 24 hours of a scheduled proctored exam will make you INELIGIBLE to begin the exam.

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Exams

    OSU-Oklahoma City grants credit for Advanced Placement (AP) exams in the College Board’s Advanced Placement Program (AP) as indicated below.

     

    High school students may take Advanced Placement examinations for college level credit while still in high School. Students should contact their high school counselor to obtain assistance with testing arrangements. Scores of 3 or higher are acceptable for credit. Scores of one and two (1 and 2) are not acceptable for credit.

  • CLEP - College-Level Examination Program

    CLEP is a national test used to obtain college credit for the equivalent course. A list of tests can be found by clicking on the link below. CLEP tests must be scheduled with the Test Center by calling 405-945-8648 or through email, okc.testing@okstate.edu.

     

    Cost: $93 paid on the CLEP website and $20 Administration fee paid to the OSU OKC Business Office.

    Time: 90 minutes for all tests except the College Composition test which is 120 minutes.

  • GED - General Educational Development

    The new GED program was launched on January 2, 2014; the GED test was overhauled to better prepare adults without a high school diploma for higher education and the workforce. The comprehensive, start-to-finish 2014 program uses technology to help students prepare for, pass, and progress beyond the GED test to find better jobs with better wages. The 2014 GED test is the only high school equivalency program fully aligned to state college and career readiness standards. The 2014 GED test series has four test modules.

     

    Some of the new features exam candidates can use on the GED new website include:

    • A one-stop resource for registration, preparation, and more.
    • Tools to develop personalized study plans and find study materials or in-person classes.
    • A skills assessment to help test-takers match skills with possible careers, and focus on career plans to get to better jobs with better wages.
    • Access to information and resources to help test-takers apply for college or training programs and fill out financial aid forms.
    • An official practice test that shows test-takers their strengths and where they need to improve, including specific pages to study in their training materials at home and online.

    Cost: $34 per subject exam

  • Paramedic Entrance Exam

    The Paramedic Entrance Exam is an exam administered by the School of Paramedicine. The Paramedic Program utilizes a selective application process. 

     

    Students must apply and be accepted to OSU-OKC, before taking the Paramedic Entrance Exam.

    The Paramedic Entrance Exam includes the following exams:

    • EMT-P Math assessment
    • Learning style assessment
    • Paramedic entry assessment (EMT entry-level)
    • Professional characteristic assessment
    • Reading level assessment
    • Student motivation assessment
    • Test anxiety assessment

    Appointment & payment required for testing:

    Proctoring fee:  $35 

    Time allotted:  Not timed, but takes about 4 hours to complete

    Testing Cycle:

    • January 1st – June 30th 
    • July 1st – December 31st 

    Retakes:  Up to 3 times in a testing cycle with 2 weeks between each attempt

    Paramedic Program Questions

  • Proctor Service

    Fee-based proctor service is available to examinees attending other universities. A proctor agreement form is required; examinees must provide postage if test results are to be returned by mail. Proctored tests must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance; please call 405-945-8648 to schedule your exam. We recommend you call ahead to verify your exam has been received.

     

    Cost: $20 per test for exams scheduled to last up to 2 hours. Additional time must be approved by the Director.

  • TEAS Test – Test of Essential Academic Skills

    TEAS is the pre-admission exam for all applicants of the OSU-OKC Diagnostic Imaging Degree programs.

    Testing Information:

    Application Deadline: May 31st

    Total Test Time: 3 hours and 29 minutes

    • Testing takes place in January - February & April - May
    • Applicants may take the TEAS up to 2 times, in an application period, with a 90-day study period between attempts.
    • Register and pay for your testing appointment online. (Test dates are listed approx. 1 month before testing)
    • Seating is limited, so reserve your seat early.
    • If you already have a TEAS Testing account, please make sure your account information matches your ID. To update your account log into https://atitesting.com/ If you don’t have an account, we will help you create one when you come into test.

    Registration:

    An appointment and payment are required to take the ATI TEAS exam. The fee for the exam is non-refundable and is payable online.

    The TEAS is administered in late January – February and late April – May.
