Applying to Upward Bound
Eligibility
Students must meet the following criteria:
- Attend Western Heights or Putnam City West high schools
- Be in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade
- Meet specific income guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Education
- Be between the ages of 13 and19
- Be a U.S. citizen, national of the U.S., a permanent resident of the U.S. or in the U.S. for other than a temporary purpose and provide evidence from the Immigration and
- Naturalization Service of intent to become a permanent citizen.
- Be a potential first-generation college student and/or meet federal income guidelines.
Prime candidates are students who have the desire and potential for college but due
to certain challenges in their lives, require an additional support system to achieve
their higher education goals.
